The sixth day of the Cambridges' Canadian royal visit brought the tour's most eagerly anticipated engagement, the children's party at Government House. Today's event marked Princess Charlotte’s first official royal duty.
Princess Charlotte and Prince George joined 24 children of Canadian military families for a party in the grounds of British Columbia's Government House where they are staying for their week-long tour of Canada. The grounds had been transformed into a children’s paradise for the event with balloon animals, a petting zoo, and even miniature ponies.
The 16-month-old princess ran off as soon as her mother put her down, marking the first occasion the public had seen her walk. She was also heard talking in public for the first time - saying “pop” at the balloons!
For her second appearance of the tour, the adorable princess was back in blue.
Charlotte wore the Classic Handsmocked Dress - Blue and Coral (£74) by Pepa & Co.
The blue hand-smocked dress features coral embroidery on the front and matching stitching on the puff sleeves and peter pan collar. The back sash features one blue and one coral tie.
Over the dress, she layered a blue knit cardigan - a hand-me-down from her big brother! George wore it when he visited Charlotte at the Lindo Wing on the day she was born.
The tag reveals the sweater is by Spanish brand, Mi Lucero.
The front of Charlotte's hair was clipped back with one of her go-to Amaia grosgrain hair bows.
On her feet she wore Condor Purl Cuff Anklet Socks, and a pair of Doña Carmen Mercedita Suela Mary Janes - the same shoes she wore on Saturday.
Here's a look at Prince George's ensemble:
There are simply too many adorable photos to share on this blog! I recommend you check out Zimbio's collection of images from today's outing. We next expect to see the royal tots when the Cambridges leave Canada this Saturday afternoon.
