Today, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge left Kensington Palace with Princess Charlotte and Prince George to their country home, Anmer Hall on the Queen's Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
The rear windows of the car were blacked out so there was no glimpse of the newborn Princess or her older brother, Prince George. The Cambridge family are expected to base themselves at their refurbished Georgian mansion over the coming years, where they intend to raise their children away from the prying eyes of the world's media.
The Queen traveled to Kensington Palace this afternoon to meet with the newborn royal, Princess Charlotte. The Queen was spotted arriving in a Range Rover at a side entrance to the palace at around 2.35pm and stayed for about 30 minutes.
Immediately following Her Majesty's visit, Prince Charles was also seen arriving for the second time to Kensington Palace for a cuddle with his grand-daughter. He had already been to visit Princess Charlotte with Camilla on Sunday.
Other visitors on Sunday included Catherine's mother Carole Middleton and sister Pippa Middleton.
Kate's father Micheal Middleton also joined the Middleton reunion later that afternoon.
The Duke and Duchess are now believed to be returning to their country home in Norfolk, where they will set up residence with their new daughter.
On Tuesday, the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge registered the birth of his newborn daughter, HRH Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana of Cambridge. Prince William signed the registry at Kensington Palace overseen by a registrar from Westminster Register Office.
Today the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge announced the name of their new daughter. It is speculated that the name Charlotte, the female version of Charles, is a nod to her grandfather, The Prince of Wales.
The Princess of Cambridge's second name, Elizabeth has an obvious connection to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. It is also Catherine's middle name. The choice of Diana for the Princess' third name is a lovely tribute to William's late mother, Princess Diana.
On 2nd May 2015, Kensington Palace announced the safe arrival of a baby girl for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge . She was born at 8:34am, weighing 8lbs 3oz.
Later in the day, the Duke & Duchess presented the new Princess of Cambridge to the world:
